You have got to be kidding me!!!!

This week R'n'B's most 'prominent' *well known might actually be a better word* female artist released her video for her newest singles  . . . .and let me be one of the first to say . . WHAT THE F**K???!!!!

Like really?!?! Beyonce,  . . .WHAT THE HELL??!!!??? You guys paid money to make these videos?? It looks like something you could easily find on channel aka.
First up Beyonce . . . What the HELL??!!1+1 is actually a really, really good song, but your video doesn't add anything to it. Personally I think it takes a lot away from it. You staring at the camera, giving it seductive gazes while covered head to toe in a truck load of baby oil, has no meaning or any relation to the song WHATSOEVER. I couldn't tell if you were trying to seduce me or kill me with your over acting

How could you have gone from 'Best I never had' which was so pretty and classy to this . . landslide??? What do you think peeps am I being too harsh???

The Holy Grail of Bargains . . . .

Here I was, doing my daily rounds of shifting through my favourite blogs, when a post from Katie of  Lady from a Tramp, struck my eye. Ruby and Millie Brushes at Boots where going for £1.66 or 44p at local Boots stores!! *heavenly chords being played at this point*
So of course, hearing this lil info I decided to leg it all the way to my nearest Boots (in the pouring rain *might I add*), praying the whole time that the Ruby and Millie i-Define Brush was still in stock because me and that brush . . . .well I don't like to toot my own horn but magical things happen when we are together loool
When I got there they only had one i-Define brush left, an eye brush and a lip brush . . . I was a little bit gutted because I actually wanted at least 3 or so of the i-Define brushes as they are such good quality and I seem to go through them *i.e. lose them* very quickly. I did get the last brush (obviously) and I also picked up the lip brush because I loved the feel and shape of it . . . the eye brush however was going NOWHERE near my shopping trolley (lets face it that eye brush lets down the whole range).
Made it to the till and sure enough the brushes have gone from approx £7 to £1.66 to 44p loooool. The lady at the checkout actually put the brushes through the system 3 TIMES because she thought it was a mistake

 *LOVE IT!!!*

Random Thought - Are Boots pushing out Ruby and Millie from their stores? *hmmmmm*

Major Shoe Crush . . .

Look what I found in my weekly travels exploring the great store that is Selfridges.

It's the Jeffrey Campbell Tick Stud Wedge Boots and they are just soooo beautiful!!! The wedge heel is actually decorated with colour painted pins giving it a very edge and eclectic look.

Measuring at an impressive 13cm ( approx 5 inches) and at a reasonable £130. I'm waiting til my next paycheck to pick these beauties up.

This is the video taken of the Haagen Das event that I went to at the end of July, (Review of the event here), I actually loved the event sooo much, I'm still eating lots of the icecream I hoarded from the event.

But without much ado, here's the video . . .

London's Burning . . . .

I know I've did a rant recently but I'm just warning you again before I get into this, that this is going to be a rant and if you don't want to read this, I don't really care because at the end of the day it's my community and my city that's going up in flames and being degraded by the very people it's trying to invest in
I was initially going to write this post a few nights ago but I was just too drained and emotionally haggard to even press the send botton, but as I'm not anymore. I just want to comment on the way the British Governemnt and Officials handled this problem in the early days. . . honestly If I was God and paying their bills I would sack all of them!!! Especially David Cameron!!! How is the British Prime Minsiter refusing to come back from his holiday during a time of unrest in his own country, and when he FINALLY touches British soil 3 days late, the media all hail him like he did such a huge thing??!! No it was not huge, policemen were pulled off their leave/holidays within the first 24 hours of the riots and they had a much more volatile time of it. I mean rioters were shocking bricks and fire at them!!!!
Next thing that I had a huge problem with, is the moral decay of certain individuals in the British Community. Life has certainly been a bit too easy for you, making claims that youre rioting and looting because there is no jobs and the government has failed you and all this woohaaa but lets be serious where else except the UK do you have free healthcare, council housing, benefits, free educational, free travel on the bus services. Yes you might be relatively poor but how poor can you really be if you are rocking £300 blackberry's and £500 ipods (or however they cost). You are not poor!!! You might not be able to buy everything you like but you are still a lot better off than a lot of people in the world, so get off your high horse.

I'm still furious of what has happened rght now, and the fact that 5 days on it still hasn''t ended but I want to give a round of applause to all the people working in our Emergency Services, who are risking their life and safety trying to remedy these attack *huge applause*

With this I will be leaving you with a few pictures on how moral decayed, selfish people have destroyed and damaged my community

Disclaimer - All Footage and Pctures used in this post are not my own, but all where chosen as they showcased the damage, rioting and looting taking place in Woolwich SE18 (London) - Majority of pictures taken (with permission) from the facebook album of  Trevor Maskery

Lets get Cosmetological . . .

No matter what skin you have . . normal  . . oily . . . dry. . . acne prone . . . It still needs tender love and care. I normally don't follow a strict skincare regime  . . . Ok I'm not going to lie I cheat *BIG TIME* when it comes to taking care of my skin properly. Remembering to take off my makeup at night has always been a touch and go battle. Lately though I've been noticing a few dry, flaky areas on my face which is making me freak out big time. I've tried using the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grape Fruit Gel Facial Wash and Daily Scrub but despite these skincare products boasting being kind to skin and claims not to over-dry skin. It did exactly did that *aaaarrrrrgggghhhhh* (FULL on review on why it was a waste of money - soon to come)

Moving on, I was introduced to a skincare brand at the last Ifabbo event, called Murad .
What I really liked about Murad is that they had a skincare range that is specifically designed for Normal/Combination Skin and a lot of companies do not do this. Companies are fond of lumping skincare products that can be used for my skin under their 'sensitive' range and that really doesn't sit well with me. For the next 3/4 weeks I'm going to be using the Murad Vitalic Range everyday or so, doing reviews on their range as I go along.
If you are interested in finding out more about Murad and their various skincare ranges, Murad have a personalised skincare quiz that you can use to find out which products are right for you and it doesn't take too long (roughly 90 secs *apparently*) and to tempt you just a wee bit, while I'm doing my Murad Skin Review I'm going to be running a Murad Giveaway for the whole month of August. Click here for more details and your chance to get involved.

Glowing with NARS Sheer Glow

So summer has finally decided to peek it cheeky little head this week so I thought I should da a review on the foundation I'm currently *kinda* using for the summer. This is not a really a brand new product straight off the beauty press. I think it was launched last year spring time sometime (not sure exactly when though)
NARS Sheer Glow foundation is a light- medium coverage foundation that is meant to brighten, clarify and hydrate your skin, as well as minimised skin discolouration. It comes in 20 different shades and should be available for purchase at your nearest NARS counter or online.
NARS Sheer Glow in Trinidad - I'm now Trinidadian =)
My foundation colour in NARS is Trinidad (dark 3), *and fyi I'm an nw45 in MAC*, and what I was initially impressed with, is that this foundation doesn't have an weird yellow undertone that many foundations for Afro-British skin have, so it looked very natural on my face. I love, love, love the lightweight, dewy feeling of this foundation, it's exactly how a summer foundation should feel. It doesn't sit on your face like a ton of bricks and then melt off in a rain-pour the moment you step outside into the heat like a lot of foundations do. I felt it blending very nicely without too many streaks *which is a bonus* and lasted relatively the whole day.
Swatch of Foundation
Blended a little so shade is visible
All blended out
Negatives

I don't really have anything outrageously evil to say about this foundation as I did quite like it, however:-
  • I think NARS should really rethink the formula for this foundation as it made my face look way too shiny and oily, (it complete changed my skin type from normal to oily*Not good!!*) and as a result I had to use a lot of more powder than I usually do to combat the sheen.
  • I hate the fact that this doesn't come with a pump, as it can get a bit messy and I personally felt that I was partaking in a science experiment trying to measure out the right quantity to use

Overall Feedback (2/5)

I really want to rate this foundation highly because on one hand it hit the targets which I was looking for in regards to a summer foundation (lightweight and a decent coverage) but on the other hand I really do not want to look more shiny that I need to be. I actually have not really used this foundation too often; one because the weather in London has been completely HORRIBLE and two because I'm currently using a MAC NW40 concealer and my concealer and this foundation doesn't match or work very well together . . . . and well it makes me look a bit patchy. But after a quick visit to the Selfridge's NARS makeup counter this weekend, I found out that they were planning to release a wide range of concealer that would/should work with their foundation shades.

I am a bit disappointed that I'm going to have to buy a new concealer in order to get my money's worth out of this foundation, because at £29.50 (RRP) this foundation is not what I call cheap and it costs more than my regular foundation.
