Muppets cover by Ok Go

When I came across this today, I knew I just had to put this online.

I grew up on the Muppets. I've watched all the movies, the show, the cartoons . . . I even had the baby - muppets book!

I am absolutely in love with this cover by Ok Go and once I get into a wifi area, I'm downloading this song!

100 things to do before I bite the dust

While scrolling through some many different blogs, I 've noticed a lot of bloggers have put up a list of 100 things they would like to do before they hit the dust. Having gone through a few of them, I actually love this idea as it gives a little list into the bloggers aspirations and desires for their individual lifetime.

So like the little sheep I am *baaaaaaaah* I am going to make 10 weekly posts listing 10 things I would like to do and add all my things to a page so you can have a look at them again at a later date

1 – Get a driver’s license
2 – Get a car (no point having a driver’s license without a car)
3 – Get a PAYING PR job (internships = forever broke)
4 – Set up my makeup website venture
5 – Build on my Musee Hair extensions venture
6 – Grow a fringe
7 – Get superpowers
8 – Buy a gym membership and ACTUALLY go to the gym more than once
9 - Train to be a Ninja assassin
10 – Visit 20 European Capitals

To keep an eye on what I would like to do before I bit the dust, keep checking the page in the coming weeks -  here

Dermablend undoes the Zombification Process

I think this post testifies to the wonders of modern cosmetics.

Dermablend Professional, a dermatologist coverage brand in the US has worked their coverage magic on Rico Genest aka Zombie Boy, giving us a realistic view of what he would look like if he wasn't covered head to toe in  *seriously cool* tattooes.

The transformation took 1 day, 3 makeup artists and 4 dermablend leg and body covers to take him from this . . .
To that . . .
I always wondered what he looked like without all those tattooes . . . He's kinda hot!

Check out the video of how they did it below

My Freaky Night out with Illamasqua Freak

*Ahem*

I have a confession to make . . .

I am an Illamasqua Freak!!!!

Ok, forgive me for the pun-like opening but I seriously couldnt resist doing that. I have become a super huge fan of the Illamasqua brand ever since I tried their skin base foundation a little while back. Since then my collection of Illamasqua products just keeps growing. I mean I've hyped on about Illamasqua so much, I've even got my mum using Illamasqua as her foundation of choice (click here to see how Illamasqua skin base no. 17 looks on her).

Thursday Night, Illamasqua opened the doors of their flagship store in London to the general beauty public to launch their first fragrance  . . . Freak
Freak is an exotic and dark perfume that captures the magic of night-time by using exotic (and poisonous) flowers to create its scent and I can honestly say without a doubt that  . . .it definitely smelt . . .interesting loooool. I actually really liked the scent surprisingly, it smelt like a lighter version of Estee Lauder's Sensous Noir. Right now you can purchase this mysterious scent for £59 (75ml, Eau du Parfum) at the Illamasqua Flagship store just of Carnaby Street, on their website or in selected retailers like Selfridges when it is launched on their counters

I loved the event and actually had a lot of fun. Everything was so 'nightmare on elm street' gothic sprinkled with 'Tinker bell's fairy dust' that I was just amazed by every little touch. The wine served had food dye added to it to give it a darker bloodier colour (and it looked a bit too realistic that I chickened out and didn't give it a taste *I suffer from an over-active imagination*).
As they were doing a big discount on some of their stock and I have a huge shopping habit, I just couldn't leave empty handed. I mean eyeshadows had gone down from £15.50 to £5 . . . the mathematician in me calls this a SEXY DEAL!!! I went home with a lot of discounted Illamasqua goodies which will definitely keep a big goofy smile on my face for the next few weeks.
I picked up the Illamasqua:-
- Cream Eyeshadow in Malevolent
- Cream Eyeshadow in Debauch
- Cream Eyeshadow in Entangle
- Cream Eyeshadow in Linger
- Nail Varnish in Glory
- Nail Varnish in Fern
- Eyeliner pencil in Eerie (which is basically a black in regular English language)

I plan to post up a review and swatches on each of these eyeshadows at a later date, so keep you eyes peeled.
I hate snails . . but I could see myself getting friendly with this one

Things I find on the internet - Woman who found a cat in her flabs

I'm posting this on suggestion of my friend Zoe, who told me about this story on Tuesday night, about the woman who found a kitten in her flabs when her boyfriend was performing a sexual act on her and honestly I don't even know where to begin with this news story.

My only question (well my only PG Rated question) is how can you not notice that there was a cat 'in' you??  I mean the cat would be squirming and they have claws!!!

Poor Kitty!

Full story can be found at Sunday Sport

NOTD:- Leighton Denny's Hanky Panky

So Monday morning I managed to bump into the post-lady on my way out the door on the way to work *how luck is that??* and in my October glossy box (among other things) was a Leighton Denny's nail polish in Hanky Panky from their Risqué Collection
Hanky Panky is a summery and vibrant coral/orange colour which is chip resistant and hard wearing, *which is definitely a plus as I had to do the dishes shortly after applying this*. I have never tried Leighton Denny's before and I also don't own any oranges/coral nail polishes as I personally don't think coral or orange nails look that great on dark skin.
 Pros
- Hard Wearing
- Vibrant Colour
- Chip Resistant
- Lovely Packaging
- Drys Quickly

Cons
- Hate the colour (would have loved to be sent baby doll)
- Awful Thin Formula (literally runs of the brush)
- Leaves thin streaks on nail (even when dry)
Evidence of Thin Streaks
Honestly, I do quite like the wear of this nail polish but the formlua and colour make this nail polish a bit of a turn off for me. I'm not ready to completely disown this brand yet as it does last super long wear and feels super silky to the touch

BB Cream - Rant!!!!

Ok, Im about to have a little rant right now so if you don't want to read this I suggest you close this page right now!!

BB Creams!!!

The master technology that claims to act as a primer, a balm and a foundation that is currently taking most of the UK by storm. Now please notice the emphasis I have put into the word 'most' because despite the UK and especially London claims to be highly multicultural and diverse. I still can't seem to find a BB cream that can be used on dark aka black skin.

Yes, I know options in the UK are quite limited in comparison to the USA and even Japan (home of the BB Creams) but honestly I couldn't given a flying reindeer about that.

Garnier, who has the most accessible and affordable BB cream on the UK market, didn't even think of including a dark range in their BB creams. Think I'm joking then check out their website. In both Boots and Superdrug you can only find Garnier BB creams in light or medium.

UNE, does  coms the closest to matching anything close to my skin tone (and thats not saying much as it is still a LOOOONG way off). It has no spf and is more of a cream compact foundation than a BB cream
And finally MAC! MAC, I am soo very disappointed in you. Mac is the last stop destination for women of colour and even they didn't offer a BB cream in a suitable colour. On the MAC Website, they boast that their Prep + Prime beauty balm 'is lightly tinted in a sheer beige tone to work on an array of complexions' . . yeah . . . well . . . NOT!!!! If I wore anything beige as a foundation or under my foundation, I honestly believe people would stop me in the street asking if there is either something wrong with me or if I was sick.
Now people could read this and say I am making a big deal out of nothing but I honestly dont believe I am. If you are going to put something on the market and plug a whole lot of PR and Advertising into it then you should make sure it can be used more the majority of skin-tones. Because honestly anyone who has a seriously deep tan/ happens to have dark skin (whether Asian, African, Caribbean, South American or mixed race) and live in the UK,would find that they can't reap the benefits of the BB cream phenomenon . . .Well until they happen to bring out a new shade next year then reset the whole bb cream hullabullo hype to drum up sales, instead of bringing out all the right shades AT THE SAME TIME LIKE THEY WERE MEANT TO!!!

Ok . . . rant done

Model's Own @ Boots

This is probably the quickest blog post ever because I'm just doing this really quickly before I head out the door but I was just so excited about this, I felt I had to share.

I popped into the largest Boots closest to my home in search for 17's magnetic polish (no luck by the way) and  I spied this colourful display just winking at me. Model's own has brought out their own range of brushes, mirrors, eyeslash curlers etc etc etc . . . why did I not know about this???
The display is just so colourful and vibrant, and I was sooo tempted to grab a few brushes *there's no such thing as too many make-up brushes* but I decided to be a good girl and grabbed a pink and white, 'peppermint on acid inspired' mirror . . . I think I might go back for the brushes though

Golden Week 2011

During the month of August in the UK, we have held a Golden Week. From what I have gathered, this is a week celebrating Oriental culture and the contributions it has made on the British society.

Now this is a blog post that has literally been sitting in my drafts folder for a while (a month *Can you believe?*) and I thought I should share a few photo shots I took on the first day of Golden Week because the statues, shows, decorations and energy was simply amazing.

I don’t think Golden Week was well published in London because I actually stumbled onto these displays by pure coincidence. I was actually on my way to the Nails Inc boutique by Bond Street Station when I chanced upon this huge . . HUGE . . glitzy dragon. I would love if someone could give me a bit more information on Golden Week so next year I am completely prepared.

Things I come across on the web . . .3-D masks . . .of you

How would you like to wear your mates face for Halloween??

I don't know about you but me and my friends would get the biggest kick out of it and if we had a spare $4000, we could thanks to Real-F and their 3-D printer which makes a 'spookily' detailed replica of your face.

I'm talking skin tone, freckles, lips shade, eye colour, eyebrows . . blemishes. The whole shabang!!
A tad bit creepy

Things I come across on the web . . . Edible Iphone covers

Ok . . . they arent edible but I really wish they were. I can honestly say if I ever did have this on my iphone, I would probably nibble on it subconciously a few time looool

I know it's a silly remark to make but I'm a very visual personn and even worse I'm prone to snacking . . . . . I bet it doesn't taste as good as it looks though *sigh*

It just looks so edibly beautiful (and I dont care if edibly isn't a word)

Kate Moss For Rimmel

"Look what I've got"
* sing-song voice*

On a totally impromptu trip to the Bond Street Superdrug this week, I locked eyes on the Kate Moss Collection for Rimmel and it really does look every bit as appealing as I heard (and read) it would be.

Bronzed and Patriotic . . Reminds me of a certain Person I know ;)
The Eyeshadows which come in a range of purples, browns, greens and a really random Union flag coloured blue, white and pink combination, looked really pigmented (and patriotic), while the casing for the lipstick looked absolutely gorgeous!!! I know you shouldn't judge a make up product by its packaging but this time I have to make an exception.
I picked up the Kate Moss Lipstick in shade 08, which comes in a pinky brown shade; perfect for a nude lippie *for me anyway* and also the bronzed out eyeshadow palette. So far I've had a little play around with both the lippies and eyeshadows and I actually really love the way the shades show up on my skin. I can't preach about the durability yet but I feel it the eyeshadow should last for a good while before becoming dull but then again only time will tell.
