Review: Illamasqua Cream Blush in Betray

I am really head-over-heels in love with the Illamasqua's Blushes at the moment.
Since I bought my first blush in Ravish in November and loved the formula and pigmentation, I've been trying to expand my Illamasqua cream blush collection and I bought my latest cream blush; Betray, at the Illamasqua Counter at Selfridges during their Christmas Comes Early Promotion.
What They Say

Betray is a 'Deep Rose Plum' with a 'dewy finish' which can be used to 'highlight your cheekbones and shape your face'.You can either 'build and blend with fingers or use a brush to create the colour intensity you desire'.

What I Say

Well I've already mentioned earlier that I love the Cream blush formula. I don't feel that it comes off too oily or pigmented and it is long-wearing (which is great for anyone who doesn't like to touch up their makeup during the day).
Betray is described as a deep rose colour and in its blush pot/square package it does look like a dark rose but I think it comes off a lot lighter on my skin. It seems to show up more like a sweet pink rather than a deep rose.
I don't have to be as careful with this blush as I had to with Ravish as it is a much lighter colour and I do need to use a little bit more product to get it to show up however this blush is still super pigmented so I don't have to use more than one or two swipes with my angled foundation brush. Remember with Illamasqua Blushes, less is more . . unless you like the clown paint look

ZOMG Blogger Bash with Rockalily Lipstick and the London Lipgloss

ZOMG!!! I got invited to the ZOMG Bloggers Bash
I was super excited to get invited to ZOMG Bloggers Bash which was hosted by the lovely Zozo of The London Lipgloss and Flamboyant ReeRee of Rockalily Lipsticks. The ZOMG Bash was a big, ol' social media soiree to celebrate the fun collaboration of these two ladies in lipstick form.

I think this has to be the craziest event I have been to. The energy in the room was buzzing and all the bloggers were so super nice. There were just too  many things to do, that the 2/3 hours I spent there went in a flash.

My first stop was at the Temptation's Creation booth where we got the chance to customise our own cupcakes. I think I went a little bit overboard with my cupcake by adding vanilla icing, jelly beans, milk chocolate bits and this weird red sugar dusting but it tasted SOOOO good that I didn't care.
Then Camille, Shilpa and I got distracted by the many, many, many hats on display courtesy of Little Miss B. We had a little dress up session, which was super funny as we didn't actually know how to put on the hats properly *who knew that little elasticated string was meant to go at the back of your head and not under your chin?!!?!*
We also got to dress up in these beautiful red robes from Betty Blues Loungerie but I was having so much fun and forgot to take pictures *Typical me*

Now when it comes to red lipsticks, I am a firm believer that there is no such thing as 'I don't look good in red lipstick'. That is a myth!!! As  red lipstick looks great on everyone . . . You just have to find a shade that works for you and your skintone! With Rockalily lipsticks, there is definitely a lipstick shade to match your skintone regardless of what it might be (the lipstick canvas proved it).
My favourite lipstick had to be 'Mans Ruin',  it was such a gorgeous, creamy dark red which I am absolutely head over heels in love with and I NEED in my lipstick collection.
Zo's lipstick in ZOMG is a super cute, pink-toned lipstick which I am seriously considering investing in. It swatches really nicely on dark skin and looks like a pink that is everyday wearable (and that's saying something considering I don't really like bright pink lipstick).
The Night was topped off by two risque performances by Rubyyy Jones and Banbury Cross who displayed two different styles of Burlesque strip teases and while both their styles were completely different, they were both absolutely gorgeous and exciting. I actually have two new girl crushes now

Vote for CounterAction Soundz!!!

Hi everyone!!!

Now I really need everyone's help with this, so please listen up!!

My bestie's (and he will kill me later for emasculating him with the bestie tag) band CounterAction Soundz entered a really huge Dub and Reggae festival competition in Europe and are tied for top spot in the Northern Europe Division (well done guys *applauds*)
Now they really need votes to help them get to the top spot and more importantly stay in the top spot, so they can get to the next round

So I would REALLY appreciate it if you could take like 30 secs out of your busy days to vote for them. By voting for them you win a free song and also (bring on the bribery) if you post a comment under this link telling me you have voted for them (and I will check) you get the chance to win one of these two gorgeous, handmade necklaces I bought from a crafts fair in Africa in December.
So click here to get to voting!!!!!

Highlighting And Contouring Goss Makeup Artist Style

If you know your Youtube Make up Guru's then you HAVE to know about Goss Makeup Artist. He is absolutely Phenomenonal!!

Through immense stalking his Youtube Channel, he has taught me so many of hints and tips that I have are easily adapted into anyone's makeup routine. I swear he is truly a Social Media God-send.

One of my favourite Youtube videos of his, is his How to Highlight and Contour Your Face Video in which he uses cream foundations to create a natural looking highlight and contour without having to reach for a powder once. I think what he did was absolutely fabulous especially as when he is piling it onto his model's face, you get a lil nervous think 'Holy S**t! What is he doing to that poor ladies face??!' but in true Goss Fashion, he knows what he is doing and she comes out looking great.
With my face, I have really high cheekbones so I have a natural under the cheek contour, which is probably why I don't own any bronzers and make do with my Sleek Contour Kit but highlighting is really a problem for me as no matter what I seem to do, I can not get it right!!! Either I'm drawing too much attention to my forehead (which I really hate) or my cheeks would be beaming like the yellow track light but the rest of my face looked dull . . . grey paint drying on the walls dull!!!!
I used the lighter concealer to frame my eyebrows,  highlight my nose, t-zone, above my cheeks and above my jawline while using the darker concealer underneath my cheekbone, my jawline and to frame my nose.
Although I didn't use as dark a concealer as I was instructed to in his video, the effects were . . . AMAZING!!!!! I'm definitely going to invest in a darker cream concealer just so I can try this technique again and see how it comes out.

New Cid Cosmetics

Thursday night I was invited to the New CID Cosmetics studios in Central London, to get a sneak preview of some their soon to be released products and let me just say . . . girlies you are in for a treat this year.

I'm really new to New Cid Cosmetics (I'm a CID Virgin *sniggers to self*) but I've heard a lot of good things about their products; especially about their lipsticks, so as you can guess I was really excited about learning about their products . . .and more importantly what they had that could suit my skin shade.

The first thing that caught my beady lil' eyes were their lipstick and glosses. I know why everyone has hyped up the i-pout lipsticks now. They are bloody amazing, so glossy and pigmented which is exactly how I love my lippies. If the pigmentation had not swayed me, the inbuilt touch and mirror that comes standard with each i-pout won me over. I think this would be a perfect addition to my bag, especially at night when I'm trying to find my keys. There are 12 shades in the i-pout collection and my favourite *which you can see below* is a gorgeous pink shade called Fuscia and Very Cherry, an indulgent dark red/plum shade.

A new product which will be hitting the shelves in the next few months is their i-Perfection Colour Adjust Foundation to replace their current i-Perfect range. The i-Perfection is a light to meduim coverage foundation which allows you to warm up and cool down your foundation to match your skin tone perfectly. It is available to purchase in 9 shades ranging from Nougat (very pale porcelain skin tones) to Mocha (dark/black skin tones).

Our Makeup Artist for the Night, Mikey was on hand to show us just how wonderful this new foundation was and how easy it was to use.
Sabrina from the Science of Style, gets a free makeover *lucky thing*
It looked so gorgeous and lightweight.

New CID Cosmetics have a lot of great goodies coming out in the next few months, like i-Polish, which is a Light up Nail Polish that I will be keeping an eye and an ear out for, and I suggest you do to.

After all, who wouldn't want chic packaged cosmetics which light up??

Swept away by YS Jewellry and EOTD

I love jewellry . . . I love feathers . . . .and if you can make this connection . . I absolutely ADORE jewellry that has feathers on it, which is why I am head over heels in love with my recent purchase of earrings from YS Jewellry.

YS Jewellery is all about providing high statement jewellery that compliments any outfit and making said outfit POP!!! They have a great stock of jewellery that changes regularly and ranges from Earrings to Bracelets and  Super cute Necklaces. YS Jewellery was recently launched as an affordable range of high quality, handmade jewellery by a friend of mine (who has the best taste in clothes . .*and shoes*)

Like I mentioned before I adore earrings with feathers so I was thrilled when these came in the post. The first pair I chose were these gorgeous pair of orange and brown peasant earrings. They are perfect for an everyday look because they just seem to blend with my skin tone. I got sooo many compliments on this pair of earrings in Nigeria, it was surreal.
I then chose a single green feather earring, which came in just the right shade of green . . . an absolutely gorgeous pair. I actually can't stop wearing these . . not only are they my favourite shade of green but they are sooo different to any earrings I currently own
I am soooo in love with this pair that I've done a YS inspired Green and Brown EOTD look based on these earrings . . . Green is such a hot colour!!!!!
If you want to see more pictures from the YS Jewellry Collection then check out their facebook page or their website

Disclaimer:- I bought these earrings with my own money.
